Frequently Asked Questions about 3D & 4D Ultrasound!

• What are the benefits of a 3D ultrasound?
  • 3D ultrasound offers more detailed images of the baby's face or body.  Our ultrasound images surpass traditional 2D images because the 3D is far more realistic.  The images allow you to see the similar family traits and makes the whole experience "seem so real" especially for the father and other family members.
• Will I always get a beautiful picture of my baby?
  • At Sneak-A-Peek Ultrasound, we will always do our best to obtain great pictures, but it may not always be perfect.  Depending on the position of the baby, it may be difficult to see your baby's face.  If this happens we will make several attempts, during your session, to achieve the best possible picture.
• How long does the 3D/4D Ultrasound take?
  • Your session will last between 10 and 30 minutes depending on the package you choose.  Some packages include two sessions, one session at 20 weeks and the second session between 28-34 weeks.
• When is the best time to come in for my ultrasound appointment?
  • Anytime is a great time to take a peek at your baby. However, gender determination is best after 20 weeks.  The best time for 3D images are between 28-34 weeks because prior to 24 weeks the fat has not yet defined the baby and truly beautiful images require fat deposits and fetal development.  Some mothers like to come in more than once to see any changes in development and add to their albums.
• What should I wear to my ultrasound appointment?
  • We recommend that you wear two-piece outfits for ease and comfort.  A dress is not recommended for this appointment.  Easy access to the baby is best.
• Who conducts the ultrasound sessions?
  • Only our trained and experienced 3D ultrasound technologist provides the ultrasound imaging services.
• Can I bring family and friends to my ultrasound appointment?
  • Yes, absolutely!  We encourage this experience to be a family affair and we provide a family friendly environment.  We provide a large screen for family to view the images and we provide toys and play-space in the ultrasound room for siblings.
• Can you tell the gender of the baby?
  • Yes!  Our Sneak-A-Peek ultrasound technologist is extremely accurate on determining the correct gender.  You yourself can visualize and agree with the determination.  If you wish the gender a secret, we will respect your wish.
• Do I need a full bladder?
  • You do not need a full-bladder for our ultrasound services, but we do recommend that you stay well hydrated.
• What type of payment is accepted?
  • We no longer accept Credit/Debit cards. We now only accept cash. No personal checks.
• Is ultrasound safe?
  • Ultrasound has been in routine use for over thirty-five years.  While no detrimental effects from the responsible use of ultrasound have been definitively proven, the FDA and American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (ALUM), openly discourage the use of ultrasound unless medically necessary.  Sneak-a-Peek ultrasound recommends a diagnostic ultrasound before our creative service.  Please ask your doctor about any concerns they may have.
